Feb. 1 recap: Roxbury ties Mendham, Santaita lifts Vernon

Roxbury 2, Mendham 2

Roxbury and Mendham skated to a 2-2 tie on Saturday at Mennen Arena, and that result has major implications on the Halvorsen Division regular-season title race.

A win for Roxbury would have given it the regular season title and the top seed in the Halvorsen Cup. Since it ended in a tie, that now opens up the door for Montville to potentially win the title, as it can win it with a victory over Kinnelon in its final divisional game on Saturday, which is slated for 6:15pm at Mennen Arena.

Should the Montville-Kinnelon game end in a tie, the teams would be tied with 15 points, but Roxbury would get the tiebreaker for the top seed in the Mennen Cup due to it having more wins than Montville by a 7-6 edge.
