The seeds and match-ups have been finalized for the 24th Haas Cup, which will begin play on Tuesday.
The top four teams out of the six Haas Division teams qualify for the tournament. Park Regional and Gill St. Bernard’s finished tied for the fourth and final playoff spot with identical divisional records of 3-5-2 (8 points). Despite a late charge by Gill St. Bernard’s, which won all three of its final games and with Park losing its final two divisional games, Park earned the tiebreaker by virtue of its 1-0-1 head-to-head record with Gill St. Bernard’s. So, Park Regional qualified for the Haas Cup.
West Morris is the defending champion, and is the second seed this year. Bernards-Somerville-Middlesex, which moved up after two-straight Charette Cup titles, is the top seed after winning the regular season title.
The semifinals are set for Tuesday, Feb. 7 and Wednesday, Feb. 8. The final is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 13 at 6:15 p.m., with all games scheduled for Mennen Arena.
Note: A previous version of this post had Roxbury as the second seed and West Morris as the third seed. As per the MCSSIHL, there was an error, as the tiebreaker should be record against teams seeded ahead of them- which West Morris has a win over first place BSM, giving them the second seed.
