Jan. 22 roundup: Gill St. Bernard’s tops Park, Newton-Lenape Valley and High Point tie

Gill St. Bernard’s 3, Park Regional 0
Alex Steinberg had a 28-save shutout to lead Gill St. Bernard’s to a big 3-0 win over Park Regional at Mennen Arena.

Michael Scarpati netted two goals for Gill St. Bernard’s, while Christian Mote had a goal and an assist. The Knights got a big Haas Division win in this one, improving their record to 2-4 in the division and 4-4-1 overall. They are currently in fifth place in the division, and have closed to within four points of West Morris for the fourth and final Haas Cup playoff spot with a game in hand.

A.J. Schauder stopped 28 of 31 shots for Park Regional. Park fell to 7-5-2 overall with a 4-2-1 division record, and is currently in second place.

Newton-Lenape Valley 4, High Point-Wallkill Valley-Kittatinny 4
Brayden Dabroswki scored a third period goal to help Newton-Lenape Valley preserve a 4-4 tie with High Point-Wallkill Valley-Kittatinny at Skylands Ice World.

Michael Sadowski and Custode Joshua each had a goal and an assist, while Luca Carnemolla and Alex Sonvico each added a goal for High Point-Wallkill-Kittatinny. It is now 3-6-2 overall with a 2-1-2 Charette record, and is in third place.

Anthony Piccirillo, Ryan Lynch, and Ryan Flannery-Garlick all recorded goals for Newton-Lenape Valley, which is now 4-7-4 overall with a 3-1-2 Charette record. It holds sole possession of second place.

Bernards-Somerville-Middlesex 9, Vernon 2
Aidan Gallagher recorded two goals and four assists and Jimmy Hathaway had a hat trick and two assists in Bernards-Somerville-Middlesex’s 9-2 win over Vernon at Skylands Ice world.

Tanner Clemson netted two goals for Bernards (9-1-2), with Tim Jelinek adding a goal and an assist and Dylan Leonard also scoring. Ryan Leonard dished out three assists in the win. Baylyn Shankman stopped 25 of 27 shots in the win.

Devin England and Dylan Shea each had a goal and an assist for Vernon (6-5), which has lost two in a row.

Ridge 6, Morris Knolls-Hills 1
Morris Knolls-Hills’ two-game win streak was snapped by Ridge in a 6-1 loss at Protec Ponds in Somerset.

Knolls-Hills fell behind 3-0 in the opening minutes before Kyle Thornton added a power play goal. It was unable to gain much traction the rest of the way, as it surrendered three more goals.

Knolls-Hills fell to 10-5-1 overall with the loss.

West Essex-Caldwell 7, Mendham 3
Mendham lost its second game in a row on Saturday, as it fell 7-3 to West Essex-Caldwell at Codey Arena.

E.J. Gleie, Tristan Aikenhead, and Blake Stevens all scored in the loss. Mendham fell to 7-4-1 with the loss.

Pascack Valley-Hills 7, Montville 2
Just 48 hours after getting its first win of the year, Montville fell, 7-2 to Pascack Valley-Hills at Skylands Ice World.

Michael Maly and Aidan Engle each scored for Montville (1-16-1).

Lacey 14, Parsippany Regional 4
Parsippany Regional is still in search of its first win after a 14-4 loss to Lacey at Mennen Arena.

David Zilinskis had two goals and an assist for Parsippany (0-12). Maxwell Ingersoll had a goal and an assist and John Coyle also scored in the loss.
