Dec. 21 roundup: Pendy lifts Delbarton, Steinberg earns 2nd-straight shutout for Gill St. Bernard’s

Trip Pendy buried two first period goals to lift Delbarton to a 2-0 win over St. Augustine at SportsCare Arena in Randolph.

Kayetan Berezniak assisted on Pendy’s game-opening goal 1:19 in, while Ray Berezniak and Dante Rodriguez had assists on the second goal, a power play tally, late in the first. Delbarton improved to 6-1-1 with the win.

Jason Cai stopped all 17 shots to earn the shutout, his fourth of the year.

Gill St. Bernard’s 2, Morris Catholic-St. Elizabeth 0
Christian Mote had a goal and an assist to help Gill St. Bernard’s pick up its first win of the year, a 2-0 win over Morris Catholic-St. Elizabeth at Mennen Arena.

Michael Scarpati also scored for Gill St. Bernard’s (1-1-1). Alex Steinberg stopped all 19 shots he faced to record his second-straight shutout after a 0-0 tie with Bernards-Somerville-Middlesex last week.

Morris Catholic-St. Elizabeth fell to 0-4-2 with the loss.
