Dec. 4 roundup: Randolph rallies past Madison, Mt. Lakes-Boonton’s Halvorsen debut successful

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 4

Randolph 4, Madison 2
Randolph scored three goals in the third period to come from behind to top Madison, 4-2 for the team’s first Mennen Division win of the season at Mennen Arena.

Madison led, 2-1 on goals from Cormac McNamara and Liam O’Hearen going into the third period. Jase Zangara tied the game 3:02 into the third, before Brian Cislo scored the go-ahead goal with 1:53 to go. Jack Barry added a goal in the final minute to seal the win.

Zangara and Andrew George each had a goal and an assist for Randolph (1-1). Jacob Campbell had two assists in the win. Connor Thomas turned aside 23 of 25 shots.

Randolph will next face Roxbury on Wednesday, while Madison (0-3) will face Morris Knolls-Hills on Wednesday in search of its first win of the year.

Vernon 9, High Point-Wallkill Valley-Kittatinny 4
Dylan Shea continued his hot start to the season with five goals and two assists to propel Vernon to a 9-4 triumph over High Point-Wallkill Valley-Kittatinny at Skylands Ice World.

Evan Steinbach had a goal and four assists and Devin England added a goal and three assists for Vernon, which improved to 3-0 with the win. Lucas Brennan had a goal and two assists and Jake Chromcik also had a goal.

Luca Carnemolla scored twice for High Point-Wallkill Valley-Kittatinny, which dropped to 1-2. Vernon will travel to face Paramus Catholic on Sunday evening, while High Point-Wallkill-Kittatinny will face Morris Catholic on Wednesday.

Mountain Lakes-Boonton 6, Roxbury 0
Aiden Reidy had a hat trick and two assists as Mountain Lakes-Boonton’s Halvorsen Division debut was a successful one with a 6-0 win over Roxbury at Mennen Arena.

Jimmy Holda, A.J. Wenzel, and Jonathan Garibaldi each had a goal for Mountain Lakes-Boonton, which improved to 2-0 overall. Daniel Fazandeiro dished out two assists, while Cullen Fagan recorded an 18-save shutout.

Mountain Lakes-Boonton will face Chatham on Thursday. Roxbury will face Randolph on Wednesday.

Bernards-Somerville-Middlesex 10, Parsippany Regional 0
Dylan Leonard tallied two goals and two assists to lift Bernards-Somerville-Middlesex to a 10-0 win over Parsippany Regional in the team’s season opener at Mennen Arena.

Tim Jelinek had a goal and three assists for Bernards-Somerville-Middlesex. Aidan Gallagher had two goals, while Ryan Leonard and Chris DeRogatis each had a goal and two assists in the win.

Parsippany Regional dropped to 0-2 with the loss. Bernards will next face Morris Catholic on Friday, while Parsippany will take on West Morris next Saturday.

Nutley-Columbia-Bloomfield 4, Newton-Lenape Valley 1
Newton-Lenape Valley dropped a 4-1 decision to Nutley-Columbia-Bloomfield for the team’s second-straight loss to open the year at Skylands Ice World.

Ryan Lynch scored a goal in the first period for Newton-Lenape Valley. It will face Mount Olive-Hopatcong-Hackettstown on Monday.
