Dec. 3 roundup: Morris Knolls-Hills hands Morristown-Beard 1st Mennen loss in 2 years

Morris Knolls-Hills 7, Morristown-Beard 1
Luke Dickerson had a hat trick and Ryan Manz had two goals as Morris Knolls-Hills rolled past Morristown-Beard 7-1 in a key Mennen Division game at Mennen Arena.

It marked Morristown-Beard’s first loss to a Mennen Division team in two years, a 17-game divisional win streak including Mennen Cup games. Morris Knolls-Hills was the last team to beat Morristown-Beard, when it knocked them off 6-1 on December 6, 2019.

Hollis Humphries scored to give Morristown-Beard the lead in the first period, but Dickerson and Manz scored to give Knolls-Hills the lead going into the break. Dickerson, and Ryan Murcer each scored in the second period to extend the lead. Manz, Jake McCloud, and Dickerson all added goals in the third period.

Morristown-Beard was without some of its top players, including Noah and Evan Jones, Billy Moloney, and Nick Squashic, due to travel commitments.

Aidan Marvin stopped 18 of 19 shots for Morris Knolls-Hills, which improved to 2-0 both overall and in the Mennen Division. It will take on Madison on Wednesday. Morristown-Beard will host Mendham on Monday.
