PUBLIC B: Randolph 6, Southern 0
Nick Gallo scored twice to lift top seed Randolph to a 6-0 win over ninth seed Southern in the Public B quarterfinals at Aspen Ice in Randolph.
Chris Civetta, Ben Yurchuk, Evan Xhumba, and Matt Rogers each scored for Randolph, which advanced to Wednesday’s semifinal against fourth seed Middletown South at Codey Arena, with puck drop set for after 6:30 p.m. J.T. Zangara had three assists and Justin Harper had two assists, while Gavin Einfeldt stopped all 18 shots he faced to pick up his second straight shutout of the state tournament.
NON-PUBLIC: Gloucester Catholic 4, Delbarton 3 (OT)
For the first time since 2014, there will be no state final appearance for Delbarton.
The fourth seed Green Wave fell in overtime to fifth seed Gloucester Catholic on Monday at Aspen Ice in the Non-Public quarterfinals. Delbarton finished the season at 10-10-3.
PUBLIC C: Lakeland 2, Chatham 1 (OT)
Seventh-seed Chatham’s quest for a run to Prudential Center for the third straight year came to an end on Monday, as it lost in overtime to second seed Lakeland in the Public C quarterfinals at the Ice Vault in Wayne.
Lakeland’s Hunter Quinn scored the game-winner just 1:11 into overtime. Ryan Sordillo scored a shorthanded goal in the final minute of the second to tie the game up at one. Jennifer Olnowich made 27 saves for the Cougars.
NON-PUBLIC: Christian Brothers 3, Morristown-Beard 1
Despite out-shooting top seed Christian Brothers, eighth seed Morristown-Beard fell, 3-1 in the Non-Public quarterfinals at Jersey Shore Arena in Wall.
The Crimson, who won the Mennen Cup this season, fell behind 3-0 in the second period, before receiving a power play goal from Billy Moloney early in the third. It was unable to get any more past Christian Brothers goalie John Donohoe, who made 33 saves. Morristown-Beard out-shot Christian Brothers, 34-21.
