Morristown-Beard is headed to the first-ever girls ice hockey state final after the top seed Crimson earned a 6-2 win over fourth seed Oak Knoll in the State Invitational Tournament semifinals at Twin Oaks Ice Rink in Morristown.
Leah Stecker led the charge with three goals and an assist for Morristown-Beard, which will take on sixth seed Summit in the final on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Prudential Center in Newark. Lilli Warnock tallied two goals and two assists, while Anna Bajak added a goal and two assists. Sam Grant also had two assists.
Sasha Berniker turned away 17 of 19 shots to help Morristown-Beard earn the win.
