Dec. 13 recap: Tom stays hot in Madison shutout; Mountain Lakes remains unbeaten

Madison 3, Ridgewood 0

In the past three games, nobody has been able to solve Madison goaltender Keaton Tom. After shutout wins over Sparta-Jefferson and Kinnelon, the junior turned in another shutout with a 23-save performance in a 3-0 win over Ridgewood.

In total, the netminder holds a .968 save percentage through four starts for Madison, which holds a 3-0-1 record.

Offensively, the Dodgers received another balanced performance, as Jacoby Erickson and Aidan Niceberg each had a goal and an assist, with Matt Gero also finding the back of the net. Sean Hoover chipped in with two assists.

Morris Knolls-Hills 3, Kinnelon 1

Morris Knolls used a two-goal third period to break a 1-1 tie in a big 3-1 win over Kinnelon at Skylands Ice World.

Knolls (2-2) had its share of issues in solving Kinnelon’s outstanding netminder in Brett Lewis, as the Golden Eagles put 49 shots on the junior. He turned aside 46 of them, and was a big reason that the game was tied at one going into the third.

Gehrig Eckoff scored the go-ahead goal in the third for Morris Knolls. Jason Kwestel also scored a power play goal in the second period. Elliot Marken made 15 of 16 saves to earn the win.

Dillon Fleksher scored the lone goal for Kinnelon (0-3-1) in the second period.

Mountain Lakes-Boonton 5, Mount Olive-Hopatcong-Hackettstown 1

Mountain Lakes-Boonton continued its unbeaten start to the season with a dominant win over Mount Olive-Hopatcong-Hackettstown.

Five different players scored for Mountain Lakes (4-0-1), which included Aiden Reidy, Caz Kotsen, Jimmy Holda, Tyler Shaloub, and Jaiden Rutrick. Ben Polizzi made 16 saves.

Evan Parr scored the lone goal for Mount Olive (3-1-1).

Monroe 3, Mendham 2

Liam Lloyd and Eric Gloie each scored for Mendham in a 3-2 loss to Monroe.

Connor McDonough made 23 saves for the Minutemen.
