Randolph bounces back to earn Mennen Cup top seed
Just one day after a tough loss to Ridge to snap a 10-game winning streak, Randolph rebounded in a big way with an 8-0 win over Morris Knolls-Hills in Mennen Division play at Mennen Arena.
The win officially gave the Rams the regular season Mennen Division title, and earned it the top seed in the upcoming Mennen Cup. Randolph is now 15-4 overall with an 11-0-0-1 Mennen Division record.
Shane Melly had a goal and three assists for Randolph. Andrew George scored twice, while Brian Cislo, Jase Zangara, Andrew Parisi, and Keegan Melly each recorded a goal and an assist. Quincy Mitchell stopped all 20 shots he faced to pick up his fourth shutout of the year.
Morris Knolls-Hills fell to 8-12 overall with a 5-7 mark in the Mennen Division.
High Point tri-op clinches second seed in Haas Cup
Brady Reid had a hat trick to lead High Point-Wallkill Valley-Kittatinny to a 4-0 win over Morris Catholic-St. Elizabeth-Newark Academy in Haas/Charette Division play at Skylands Ice World.
With the win, the High Point tri-op is believed to have clinched the second seed in the upcoming Haas Cup, which will include a first round bye. It is 9-8 overall with an 8-4 record in the Haas/Charette Division.
Anthony Tokar had three assists and Alex Sonvico had a goal and two assists for High Point. Landon Healy stopped all 19 shots he faced to earn his third shutout of the year.
James Boyce made 29 saves for the Morris Catholic tri-op, which fell to 4-12 overall with a 3-8-0-1 divisional record.
Roxbury finishes undefeated Haas/Charette season
Ryan Van Zile and Brody Ozga each had two goals and two assists to lift Roxbury to a 6-1 win over Parsippany Regional in Haas/Charette Division play at Mennen Arena.
Roxbury finished off a perfect season in Haas/Charette Division play, with a perfect 12-0 record, and now holds a 14-4 overall record. It is expected to be the top seed in the Haas Cup.
Griffin Warsaw had a goal and three assists for the Gaels. Mikey Guadagnino made 15 saves in the win.
Kaden Bland scored the lone goal for Parsippany, which dropped to 9-6 overall with a 6-4-0-2 record in the Haas/Charette. It is expected to be the fourth seed in the Haas Cup. Andrew Nicholas made 57 saves in the loss.
Ferrara’s game-winner gives Mendham win over Mount Olive tri-op
Thomas Ferrara scored the go-ahead goal in the third period to lead Mendham to a 2-1 win over Mount Olive-Hopatcong-Hackettstown in Halvorsen Division play at Mennen Arena.
Eddie Fox scored in the second period for Mendham, which is 12-5-1 overall with a 10-0-1-1 mark in the Halvorsen. It is expected to be the top seed for the upcoming Halvorsen Cup. Brendon Eigner made 22 saves in the win.
Keegan Ciborski scored for Mount Olive (7-12-2, 5-5-2), which is expected to be the fourth seed for the Halvorsen Cup. Talon Muscolino stopped 43 shots in the loss.
Morristown earns narrow win over Park Regional
Lucas Gervasio scored the game-winning goal in the third period to lead Morristown to a 4-3 win over Park Regional at SportsCare Arena.
Jake Buonocore scored twice for Morristown, which improved to 5-11-2. Noel Gaynor had a goal and an assist, while Artie Conover made 13 saves in the win.
Colin Mullooly had a goal and an assist for Park Regional (10-6-2). Matthew McDermott and Landon Link each scored in the loss.
Barnhill’s big day propels West Morris
Ben Barnhill scored four goals and had two assists to lead West Morris to a 7-5 win over Cranford at SportsCare Arena.
Rhone Armijo had a goal and five assists for the Wolfpack, which built a 7-1 lead in the third period before surrendering four goals to close the gap. Jason Trezza made 39 saves, as the Wolfpack were out-shot 44-22 in the game.
West Morris is now 11-8-1 overall.
