Three games are scheduled for Mennen Arena for Monday evening, and all three have potential impacts on seeding in the upcoming cup tournaments.
Randolph vs. Morristown, 4 p.m.
This is the final divisional game for Randolph, and for the Rams, it’s very simple. A win clinches the Mennen Division title and top Mennen Cup seed for Randolph. A tie means that it would finish tied for first with Chatham (12 points) and tiebreakers would determine who gets the top seed.
Morristown, on the other hand, needs a win to keep its hopes of qualifying for the Mennen Cup alive, as it trails Morristown-Beard by four points. A loss or tie eliminates the Colonials from Mennen Cup contention.
Morristown-Beard vs. Morris Knolls-Hills, 6 p.m.
Morris Knolls-Hills holds a three-point lead on Morristown-Beard for the third seed in the Mennen Cup. A win for Morris Knolls-Hills or a tie means Morris Knolls-Hills will be the third seed.
Morristown-Beard has two divisional games left, and if it beats Morris Knolls-Hills and then Morristown on Wednesday, it will pass Knolls-Hills for the third seed. It needs just one point to qualify for the Mennen Cup, so a simple tie would eliminate Morristown from contention.
Montville vs. High Point-Wallkill Valley-Kittatinny, 8 p.m.
Montville (7-0 Charette) holds a two-point lead on High Point-Wallkill Valley-Kittatinny (6-1 Charette) as the teams enter the final Charette Division game. A tie or a win for Montville means Montville will win the Charette Division and be the top seed for the Charette Cup.
A win for High Point-Wallkill Valley-Kittatinny would mean the teams finish tied for first, and tiebreakers would determine which team gets to be the one-seed. The tiebreaker, as confirmed by the MCSSIHL, would be penalty minutes, and its unclear which team currently holds the edge there.
