Chatham 4, Randolph 4
Matt Nacinovich scored two goals to go along with two assists to help Chatham earn a 4-4 tie with Randolph at Mennen Arena.
Randolph, behind goals from Vincent Crisafulli, Jase Zangara, Jack Rueff, and Andrew George, built a 4-1 lead. But Chatham’s comeback began early in the third period, when it capitalized on back-to-back power plays with goals from Nikita Konevych and Ryan Burke to cut it to 4-3. Nacinovich netted his second with 4:47 to play to tie the game, and that’s how the game ended.
With a win, Randolph would have clinched at least a tie for the Mennen Division regular season title. Now, Randolph, which stands at 5-0-1 in the division with 11 points, will have to wait until its next division game on Feb. 1 against Morristown-Beard for its next opportunity to do so.
Chatham, on the other hand, is 4-1-1 in the division with nine points and currently holds second place. Its next divisional game will be Jan. 25 against Morristown.
Girls: Randolph 3, Kent Place 2
Steph Martin and Anna Stock each scored in the third period to lift Randolph to a 3-2 comeback win over Kent Place at SportsCare Arena.
Kent Place led, 2-1 after back-to-back goals in the second period. But Martin scored with just over six minutes to go on the power play to tie it up, before Stock buried what proved to be the game-winner with 3:57 to go.
Joelle Yurchuk also scored for Randolph, while Stephanie Xhumba stopped 44 of 46 shots.
Randolph improved to 4-5-1 with the win.
