Dec. 28 notebook: Park Regional wins for Levis’ 300th career victory

The third time proved to be the charm for Park Regional and coach Tom Levis.

Levis, who was sitting on 299 career victories, saw his Park Regional team fall, 4-3 to Bernards-Somerville-Middlesex last Thursday, before earning a 5-5 tie with Indian Hills on Monday.

The wait came to an end on Wednesday night, as Park Regional earned a 6-4 victory over Johnson at Warinanco Skating Center in Roselle, giving Levis his 300th career victory.

Levis, who has coached Park Regional for 28 seasons, went into the 2022-23 season needing just four wins to reach the 300 milestone. His squad has taken care of business early on in the year, going 4-2-2 in its first eight games.

It will try to get Levis his 301st victory on Friday when it takes on West Milford-Pequannock in the Ice Vault Holiday Classic at 5 p.m.
