KJS United 4, Mountain Lakes-Boonton 1
Anthony Pandiscia scored twice to help KJS United earn a 4-1 win over Mountain Lakes-Boonton at Skylands Ice World.
Anthony Prunty and Joey Kopec each scored a goal for KJS United, which improved to 2-5-2 and picked up its first Halvorsen win of the year (1-1-1). Rylan Gibbons stopped 31 of 32 shots in the win.
Aiden Reidy scored the only goal of the game for Mountain Lakes-Boonton, which dropped to 3-7 (2-3 Halvorsen).
West Morris 4, Montville 3
Benjamin Barnhill had a hat trick as West Morris rallied for a 4-3 win over Montville at Mennen Arena.
Montville, in search of its first win of the year, built a 2-0 lead early in the second period on goals from Matthew Trifari and Aidan Engle. Barnhill scored a shorthanded goal 1:04 later to cut the deficit, but Engle added another just 15 seconds later to make it a 3-1 game.
Barnhill scored with 4:08 to go in the second, before Max Michalski and Barnhill scored 1:28 apart late in the third to tie and take the lead, respectively.
Phil Togno made 19 saves for West Morris, which improved to 8-3 with a 3-3 Haas record. Montville, on the other hand, dropped to 0-14-1 with an 0-8 Haas record. It has been snakebitten this season, losing its last two games by one goal each, and in total has lost five games by two or less goals.
Passaic Tech 2, Park Regional 0
Despite an incredible 39-save effort by A.J. Schauder, Park Regional fell to Passaic Tech, 2-0 at the Ice Vault Holiday Classic.
Schauder kept Park in the game for the first two periods despite a heavy shot disadvantage, but Passaic Tech’s Ryan Ross and Brian Gaboda broke through with goals nine seconds apart in the third.
Park Regional was out-shot, 41-11 in the game. It fell to 6-4-2 with the loss.
