Jan. 7 recap: Randolph ties Watchung Hills, KJS United gets 1st win

Randolph 2, Watchung Hills 2
Despite putting 39 shots on Watchung Hills netminder Jackson Gottlick, Randolph settled for a 2-2 tie with Watchung Hills at SportsCare Arena in Randolph.

Brady Sifert and Nick Azzarello each scored for Watchung Hills to build a 2-0 lead in the first. Andrew George scored with 1:15 left in the first to cut it to 2-1, before Zach Gallo scored on the power play 3:02 into the second to tie the score.

Randolph goalie Connor Thomas stopped 22 of 24 shots he faced. Randolph is now 3-4-2.

Kinnelon-Jefferson-Sparta 3, Newton-Lenape Valley 0
Ryan Gibbons turned aside all 15 shots he faced to help KJS United earn its first win of the season with a 3-0 win over Newton-Lenape Valley at Skylands Ice World.

Adam Stefancik, Anthony Prunty, and Joey Kopec all scored for KJS United (1-4-2). Mitchell Fradkin dished out two assists in the win.

Newton-Lenape Valley dropped to 2-6-2.
