Dec. 28 roundup: Delbarton routs Fairfield Prep, Randolph holds off Chatham

Delbarton 6, Fairfield Prep (Conn.) 1
Timmy Galvin netted two goals to lead Delbarton to a 6-1 win over Fairfield Prep of Connecticut at Mennen Arena.

The match-up, which saw Delbarton take on one of Connecticut’s best, saw the Green Wave pull away with four third period goals.

Trip Pendy had a goal and two assists, while Duncan Stewart, Ray Berezniak, and Dan D’Alessandro each had a goal and an assist for Delbarton. The Green Wave improved to 7-1-1 and will face another out-of-state opponent tomorrow when it takes on LaSalle College Prep of Pennsylvania.

Randolph 3, Chatham 2
Jase Zangara recorded a goal and an assist in Randolph’s 3-2 win over Chatham at Mennen Arena.

Andrew George and Jack Rueff each scored for Randolph, which built a 3-0 lead in the first period. Chatham’s Matt Nacinavich struck for a power play goal in the second period, before Tommy Sennett scored early in the third to narrow the deficit to just one. But Randolph netminder Connor Thomas came up big, stopping 22 of the 24 shots he faced to preserve the win for his team.

Michael Park stopped 33 of 36 shots for Chatham, which fell to 3-7-1 (0-2 Mennen). Randolph, on the other hand, improved to 3-4-1 (2-2-1 Mennen).

Middletown South 7, Morris Knolls-Hills 0
Morris Knolls-Hills suffered its first loss of the season in shocking fashion, as it was blown out, 7-0 by Middletown South in the Ice Vault Holiday Classic.

Andreas Forand led Middletown South (5-0-3) with a goal and two assists, while Brandon Gronau netted two goals.

Morris Knolls-Hills fell to 7-1-1 with the loss.

West Milford-Pequannock 2, Kinnelon-Jefferson-Sparta 0
Aiden Lindgren and John Biegel each scored for West Milford-Pequannock in a 2-0 win over Kinnelon-Jefferson-Sparta in the Ice Vault Holiday Classic.

Nick Lombardo stopped all 27 shots he faced for West Milford-Pequannock, which improved to 2-9. Brian Sisti stopped 27 of 29 shots for Kinnelon-Jefferson-Sparta (0-3-1).
