Delbarton 7, Seton Hall Prep 0
Delbarton continued its impressive start to the season, as Nick Faccone tallied two goals and an assist to lead the Green Wave to a 7-0 win over Seton Hall Prep at Codey Arena in West Orange.
Duncan Stewart and Timmy Galvin each had a goal and an assist for Delbarton, which improved its record to 5-0-1. James Royse, Kayetan Berezniak, and Julian Brown each scored in the win. Trip Pendy dished out two assists, while Jason Cai stopped all 15 shots to secure his third shutout of the season.
Delbarton will take on Don Bosco Prep on Tuesday.
Park Regional 3, Morris Catholic-St. Elizabeth 3
Mike Monahan scored two goals, including the game-tying goal with 47 seconds left to help Park Regional secure a 3-3 tie with Morris Catholic-St. Elizabeth at Mennen Arena.
Monahan and Stanley Gelman scored 11 seconds apart late in the first period to give Park Regional (3-0-1) a 2-1 lead. Morris Catholic struck back, however, as Averee Acuna tied it up in the second period before Evan Lord scored his second goal of the game with 6:46 to go in the third.
Daniel Mark stopped 45 of 48 shots for Morris Catholic-St. Elizabeth, which dropped to 0-3-2. It will face High Point-Wallkill Valley-Kittatinny on Saturday.
Park Regional will face Vernon on Thursday.
Girls: Morristown-Beard 2, Portledge (N.Y.) 1
Jessica Sperling and Carly Greer each scored for Morristown-Beard in a 2-1 win on the road over Portledge (N.Y.) in the team’s first WIHLMA game of the season.
The Crimson surrendered a first period goal, but Sperling tied it up in the second, before Carly Greer gave her team the lead for good early in the third period. Gracie Meyers stopped 19 of 20 shots in the win.
Morristown-Beard will take on Summit in its next game on Friday.
Westfield 5, Morristown-Beard 2
Morristown-Beard dropped its second game in a row, a 5-2 loss to Westfield at Twin Oaks Ice Rink.
After falling behind 2-0, Hollis Humphries cut the deficit to 2-1 for Morristown-Beard in the first period. That was as close as the Crimson would get, as Westfield scored three-straight goals between the second and third periods to build a 5-1 advantage.
Nick Squashic also scored for the Crimson, which fell to 3-3 overall. It will take on Randolph on Wednesday in a key Mennen Division game.
