Dec. 10 roundup: Pope John, Morris Knolls-Hills earn shutout wins

Pope John 4, St. Joseph (Metuchen) 0
Soren Torlucci had a 23-save shutout to lift Pope John past St. Joseph of Metuchen, 4-0 at Woodbridge Community Center.

Emporio Iencio scored two goals and had an assist for the Lions, which improved to 2-1-1. Owen Lapinski and Nathan Meola each had a goal and an assist in the win.

Pope John will next face one of the top public schools in the state in Northern Highlands on Sunday.

Morris Knolls-Hills 5, Indian Hills 0
Luke Dickerson had a hat trick to propel Morris Knolls-Hills to a 5-0 win over Indian Hills at the Ice Vault.

Jack Martinez added two goals for Morris Knolls-Hills, which is 4-0 to start the season. Kyle Thornton had two assists, while Aiden Chominsky stopped all seven shots he faced to secure the shutout.

Morris Knolls-Hills out-shot Indian Hills, 42-7. It will next take on Chatham on Tuesday in a big Mennen Division battle at Mennen Arena, set for an 8 p.m puck drop.
