Dec. 5 roundup: Morristown ties Princeton, Vernon suffers first loss

Morristown 1, Princeton 1
Despite a 54-14 advantage in shots, Morristown was unable to solve Princeton goalie Daniel Prokoshin in a 1-1 tie with Princeton at Mennen Arena.

Gabe Silverstein’s goal in the first period gave Princeton the lead. Morristown capitalized in the second period, when Jackson Byrne buried a power play goal to tie the game at one.

Prokoshin stopped 53 of 54 shots in the game. Dylan Peck made 11 saves for Morristown (2-0-1), which will face Kinnelon-Jefferson-Sparta on Tuesday.

Paramus Catholic 9, Vernon 4
Vernon suffered its first loss of the season in a 9-4 loss to Paramus Catholic at the Ice House in Hackensack.

Lucas Brennan had a goal and an assist for Vernon, which fell to 3-1 on the season. Evan Steinbach, Dylan Shea, and Jake Chromcik each had a goal, and Luke Zabriske had two assists in the loss.
