Morristown-Beard 3, Pingry 2
Billy Moloney had a goal and two assists as Morristown-Beard won its second-straight to start the year, a 3-2 triumph over Pingry at Twin Oaks Ice Rink.
Morristown-Beard led, 2-0 on a pair of goals from Moloney and Hollis Humphries. Pingry’s Evan Xie scored a shorthanded goal late in the second to cut the deficit to one, but Morristown-Beard’s Noah Jones scored a power play goal 15 seconds later in what proved to be the game-winning goal.
Hutch McDonald also had two assists, while Julian Melendez stopped 17 of 19 shots in the win. Morristown-Beard will take on Morris Knolls-Hills on Friday night at 7:45 p.m. at Mennen Arena in the team’s Mennen Division opener.
Park Regional 8, Montville 2
Ed Karpinski had a hat trick and an assist to help lead Park Regional to its second-straight win, an 8-2 win over Montville at Mennen Arena.
Mike Monahan tallied two goals and two assists, while Matt Lasota, Jason Cirillo, and Wyatt Lieto each had a goal and an assist. A.J. Schauder turned aside 33 of 35 shots for Park Regional, which is now a perfect 2-0 in Haas Division play so far.
Matthew Crowell and Marco Van De Graaf each had a goal and Trey Baresich had two assists for Montville (0-2).
