Dylan Shea recorded nine points- five goals and four assists- to lead Vernon to a 10-0 win at Mennen Arena.
Vernon led, 4-0 after two periods before netting six goals in a span of 5:26 to end the game.
Evan Steinbach also had a big seven-point night with four goals and three assists. Luke Zabriskie had a goal and an assist, while Devin England dished out two assists. Max Badu turned aside all 14 shots he faced to earn his first career shutout.
Vernon improved to 2-0 on the season, while Morris Catholic-St. Elizabeth fell to 0-1. Vernon will next face High Point-Wallkill Valley-Kittatinny on Saturday. Morris Catholic-St. Elizabeth will take on Gill St. Bernard’s on Monday.
High Point-Wallkill Valley-Kittatinny 11, Parsippany Regional 3
Luca Carnemolla tallied two goals and an assist for High Point-Wallkill Valley-Kittatinny in an 11-3 win at Mennen Arena.
Parsippany Regional took the lead nine seconds into the game on David Zilinskis’ goal, but High Point-WV-Kittatinny responded with five goals in the period to build a 5-1 lead en route to the win.
Jack Hammerle and Gordon Shindelman each netted two goals for High Point-WV-Kittatinny, which improved to 1-1 and bounced back from an opening day loss. Michael Sadowski had a goal and three assists, while Jake Henningsen and Breckin Oceja had a goal and an assist each. Anthony Tokar added two assists.
David Zilinskis had two goals and an assist for Parsippany Regional, which fell to 0-1. John Coyle also scored in the loss.
High Point-WV-Kittatinny will take on Vernon on Saturday. Parsippany is set to face Kearny on Friday.
