RANDOLPH RAMS
Head coach: Ryan Hallock, fourth year.
Division: NJIGIHL
Last year: Randolph played just six games last season amidst multiple COVID-19 shutdowns. It finished 1-5, with its lone win over Westfield coming in the season finale.
Key losses: Bella Dimichino, F; Alexa Drake, D; Olivia Melly, F; Grace Moffitt, F; Danielle Redgate, F; Alexis Shaunessy, D; Grace Wynn, F.
Top returners: Lexi Campbell, D/F, Sr.; Jenny Delaney, D, Sr.; Lindsey Johnson, D, Sr.; Brynn Koepke, Sr.; Rachel Liebowitz, Sr.; Zoriana Myers, Jr.; Livia Powl, Sr.; Kaitlin Stifelman, F, Sr.; Anna Stock, F/D, Jr.; Haley Thompson, Jr.; Daisy Triana, Jr.; Joelle Yurchuk, Jr.; Stephanie Xhumba, G, So.; Annika Zhou, F, Jr.
Newcomers: Riley Bordetsky, Fr.; Ellen Dellaglio, Fr.; Jaclyn Mars, Fr.; Jenny Pettito, Jr.; Yolanda Sabillon, Fr.
Outlook: Randolph has won just five games in the last three years after back-to-back one-win seasons in 2019-20 and 2020-21. Last season was especially difficult for the Rams, which had to deal with a two-week shutdown of the school along with multiple team shutdowns due to COVID-19 issues.
The lack of ice time certainly hurt the Rams last year, and the hope going into this season is that with a hopefully full season with plenty of time to practice and play, it will have the opportunity to improve towards its goal of becoming a consistent program.
It has a couple of versatile and talented players to build around in senior Lexi Campbell (5 g.) and junior Anna Stock (7 g., 3 a.), who can both play forward defense. Sophomore Joelle Yurchuk also showed some potential last year with a goal and three assists.
Stephanie Xhumba, who saw some time as a freshman last year, will be counted on as the team’s full-time starter in goal this year as a sophomore.
