KJS UNITED 3, WEST MORRIS 2
Matthew Francescutto scored the go-ahead goal with 5:57 left in the third period to lift KJS United to its first win of the season, a 3-2 win over West Morris at Skylands Ice World.
Francescutto finished with three points- a goal and two assists, while teammate Adam Stefancik dished out three assists. Kyle Sutton had a goal and an assist, and Connor O’Neill also scored. Brett Lewis made 19 saves for KJS United (1-4-1).
Tommy Togno and Zach Knoph each scored for West Morris (0-5-1).
HIGH POINT-WALLKILL VALLEY 2, BERNARDS-SOMERVILLE-MIDDLESEX 2
Luca Carnemolla scored the game-tying goal with 2:24 to go to help High Point-Wallkill Valley earn a 2-2 tie with Bernards-Somerville-Middlesex at Mennen Arena.
High Point-Wallkill Valley (3-2-1) had a 1-0 lead going into the third period on Brandon Mudrick’s goal. Bernards (2-1-1) tied it up just 27 seconds into the third, though, as Chris DeRogatis broke through. Then, with 2:37 to go, Dylan Leonard put Bernards in the lead, which lasted for all of 13 seconds before Carnemolla’s goal.
T.J. Ward made 28 saves for High Point-Wallkill Valley. Maggie Smith made 26 saves for Bernards-Somerville-Middlesex.
POPE JOHN 4, ST. PETER’S PREP 2
Emporio Iencio scored twice to help Pope John earn a 4-2 come-from-behind win over St. Peter’s Prep at Skylands Ice World.
Pope John (1-1) trailed, 2-0 after the first period on goals from Oliver Harag and Bryan Arrendondo. But it struck back in the second, as Scott Vanderhoff and Iencio each scored to tie the game. Iencio put Pope John in the lead for good with 9:39 to go, before Nathan Meola sealed the win with three seconds left.
Tyler Paluzzi made 21 saves for Pope John.
