Jan. 30 recap: Randolph returns with win, Knolls-Hills rolls

RANDOLPH 3, CHATHAM 1

Zach Gallo scored twice to send Randolph to a season-opening 3-1 win over Chatham at Mennen Arena.

Ben Yurchuk also scored for Randolph (1-0), to give it a 3-0 lead through two periods. Joe Yutsus made 18 saves to earn the win.

Declan Curry scored the lone goal for Chatham (2-2) early in the third period.

MORRIS KNOLLS-HILLS 7, MORRISTOWN 2

Jason Kwestel had a goal and three assists to lift Morris Knolls-Hills to a 7-2 win over Morristown at Mennen Arena.

Gehrig Eckoff scored twice and had an assist for Morris Knolls-Hills (2-1). Tim Kepler had three assists and Dante Tironi had two assists. Dylan Idland, Jake DiLoreto, Luke Dickerson, and Kyle Thornton all found the back of the net in the win. Aidan Marvin made 19 saves.

Harry Santen had a goal and an assist, while Jack McKenna also scored for Morristown (2-3-1).

NEWTON-LENAPE VALLEY 3, PARAMUS-LYNDHURST-HACKENSACK 3

Cameron Cherry scored on an end-to-end rush with 3.1 seconds left to help Newton-Lenape Valley earn a 3-3 tie with Paramus-Lyndhurst-Hackensack at Skylands Ice World.

VERNON 7, WEST MORRIS 2

Ayden Steinbach had a hat trick to lift Vernon to a 7-2 win over West Morris at Skylands Ice World.

Dylan Shea and Evan Steinbach each scored twice for Vernon, which improved to 2-1-1.

HIGH POINT-WALLKILL VALLEY 4, BERNARDS-SOMERVILLE-MIDDLESEX 1

Brandon Mudrick had two goals and an assist to propel High Point-Wallkill Valley to a 4-1 win over Bernards-Somerville-Middlesex at Skylands Ice World.

Michael Sadowsky also scored twice for High Point-Wallkill Valley (3-2). Devin Haines dished out three assists and T.J. Ward made 23 saves.

Jimmy Hathaway scored the lone goal for Bernards-Somerville-Middlesex (1-1).

MOUNT OLIVE-HOPATCONG-HACKETTSTOWN 2, GILL ST. BERNARD’S 1

Mount Olive-Hopatcong-Hackettstown earned a 2-1 win over Gill St. Bernard’s in a key Haas Division matchup at Mennen Arena.

Michael Scarpati scored the lone goal for Gill St. Bernard’s (2-1-1). Mount Olive-Hopatcong-Hackettstown improved to 2-2 on the season.
