CHATHAM 2, MORRIS KNOLLS-HILLS 1
Chatham pulled off one of the more dramatic wins you’ll see, as it scored twice in the final two minutes- including Will White’s goal which just beat the buzzer- to earn a 2-1 win over Morris Knolls-Hills at Mennen Arena.
Morris Knolls-Hills (1-1) led, 1-0 after a second period power play goal by Dylan Idland. It appeared to be on its way to a win, as it was outshooting Chatham (2-1) by a wide margin in the third. But Declan Curry finished off a feed from Ryan Sordillo to tie the game up.
Then, after a penalty was called on Morris Knolls-Hills with 1:02 to go, Chatham went to the power play. With time running out, Doyle Curry took a shot from near the top of the circle, which was deflected by Will White just before the buzzer, sending the Chatham bench into a frenzy.
Michael Park gave Chatham a chance throughout, despite a 27-12 shot advantage for Knolls-Hills. He finished with 26 saves, while on the other end of the ice, Aidan Marvin made 10 saves.
