HALVORSEN CUP SEMIFINALS
Mendham 2, Montville 0
Connor McDonough turned aside all 21 shots he faced to help lead third seed Mendham to a 2-0 win over second seed Montville in the Halvorsen Cup semifinals at Mennen Arena.
The win sends Mendham to the Halvorsen Cup final, a year after winning the Haas Cup. It marked Mendham’s first win over Montville in three tries this year, after the first two meetings included a 2-2 tie and a 6-1 win for Montville.
Tristan Aikenhead scored both Mendham goals, which came in the first and second period. Liam Lloyd, Ryan Bruin, and Sean Mason each had assists for the Minutemen.
MENNEN CUP SEMIFINALS
Randolph 8, Madison 2
Kyle Barbera scored twice with an assist and J.T. Zangara dished out four assists to propel second seed Randolph to an 8-2 win over sixth seed Madison in the Mennen Cup semifinals at Mennen Arena.
The win sent Randolph to the Mennen Cup final for the third straight year, after last winning it in 2018.
Nick Gallo scored twice for Randolph. Zach Gallo tallied a goal and two assists, while Matt Rogers, Ben Yurchuk, and Justin Harper each scored. Ray McNamara and Evan Xhumba each had two assists, while Gavin Einfeldt made 16 saves.
Matt Gero and Jacoby Erickson each scored for Madison.
Morristown-Beard 7, Chatham 0
Top seed Morristown-Beard is headed back to the Mennen Cup final after a dominant 7-0 win over fourth seed Chatham at Mennen Arena.
It marks a return trip to the final for Morristown-Beard after missing the final last season for the first time since 2013. It will look to claim its first title since the 2017 season, when it won its fourth cup title in a row that year.
