Jan. 21 recap: Delbarton and Morristown pick up key wins

Delbarton 4, Seton Hall Prep 0

Brett Cleaves stopped all 31 shots he faced to lift Delbarton to a 4-0 win over Seton Hall Prep at Aspen Ice.

The win was Delbarton’s second over Seton Hall Prep in the last week, and its unbeaten streak is now at three including a tie with Don Bosco Prep last week. Delbarton now is 4-5-2 overall.

Kayetan Berezniak had a goal and an assist for Delbarton. Ben Conrod, Brendan Clark, and James Royse each scored, while Ben Pendy dished out two assists in the win.

Delbarton will have yet another big test tomorrow when it travels to face the state’s top-ranked team in Christian Brothers at Jersey Shore Arena in Wall at 4:45.

Morristown 4, Millburn 2

Conor Critchley had a goal and two assists as Morristown further boosted its state tournament hopes with a 4-2 win over Millburn at Mennen Arena.

The win puts Morristown over the .500 mark at 8-7-2, with just four regular season games remaining prior to the Feb. 10 cutoff.

Harry Santen added a goal and an assist, and his third period goal with 3:10 left gave Morristown the lead for good. Jack McKenna and Francis Zaklukiewicz each chipped in with goals, while Jack Keller dished out two assists. Dylan Peck made 23 saves in the victory.
