Morristown-Beard 5, Morris Knolls-Hills 1
Morristown-Beard avenged an early-season loss to Morris Knolls-Hills with a 5-1 victory at Mennen Arena.
In fact, the last team Morristown-Beard lost to was Morris Knolls on Dec. 6, which was a 6-1 defeat. That loss dropped Morristown-Beard to 0-2, but since then it has gone on a tear with a 12-game unbeaten streak, which includes 11 wins. Its overall record is now 11-2-1, with a 5-2 divisional record. It sits just one point behind Morris Knolls in the Mennen Division standings with a game in hand, as Knolls-Hills fell to 5-2-1 in the division and 8-5-2 overall.
Montville 6, Mendham 1
Montville handed Mendham its first Halvorsen Division loss and continued its strong run for the top seed in the Halvorsen Cup with a 6-1 triumph at Mennen Arena.
The win was thanks in large part to Brendan Perretta, who recorded a hat trick in the opening five minutes of the game and finished with a total of four goals. Mike Chang and Dominik Kloda each added goals in the win.
The win improved Montville to 9-3-2, with a 5-1-2 divisional record, which is good enough for first place with 12 points. Mendham dropped to 3-1-3 in the division (9 points) with a 6-3-3 overall record.
Mount Olive-Hopatcong-Hackettstown 3, Bernards-Somerville-Middlesex 1
Evan Parr, Jason Bonante, and Christian Hertzig each scored to lift Mount Olive-Hopatcong-Hackettstown to a 3-1 win over Bernards-Somerville-Middlesex at Mennen Arena.
J.L. O’Toole had two assists for Mount Olive (11-4-1). Zach Bahammou made 13 saves in the win.
Mountain Lakes-Boonton 3, Parsippany Regional 0
Cameron Egan had a goal and two assists to lift Mountain Lakes-Boonton to a 3-0 win over Parsippany Regional at Mennen Arena.
John Lane added a goal and an assist, while Andy Barraso also scored for Mountain Lakes-Boonton (9-0-3). Ben Polizzi made five saves to secure the shutout.
Justin Wellman made 44 saves for Parsippany Regional (3-12-1).
Ramapo 4, High Point-Wallkill Valley 1
Despite a 73-save performance by goalie Tai Ruvo, High Point-Wallkill Valley dropped a 4-1 decision to Ramapo at the Ice Vault.
Cooper Williams scored High Point-WV’s lone goal, assisted by Eddie Reinle. The loss dropped it to 3-9-1 on the season.
