Delbarton 2, Seton Hall Prep 1
Delbarton snapped a three-game losing streak as it earned a big 2-1 win over Seton Hall Prep at Codey Arena in West Orange.
Ben Conrod gave Delbarton the lead in the second period, before he set up Trip Pendy for what proved to be the game-winner with just over five minutes left in the game. It surrendered a goal to Seton Hall Prep’s Brendan Waivada in the final minute, but was able to hang on.
Goalie Brett Cleaves stopped 26 of the 27 shots he faced. Delbarton improved to 4-5-1, but will have another challenge in front of it when it faces Don Bosco Prep tomorrow.
Montville 4, Roxbury 1
Montville earned a big Halvorsen Division win as it avenged a loss from earlier in the season with a 4-1 triumph over Roxbury at Mennen Arena.
Brendan Perretta scored twice for Montville, which improved to 8-3-2 overall with a 4-1-2 divisional record. It was the first loss in the division for Roxbury, which dropped to 5-1 in the division and 7-5-1 overall.
Daniel Scheine and Matt Szwagulinski also scored for Montville. Nick Falco scored the lone goal for Roxbury.
Morristown-Beard 7, Pope John 2
Morristown-Beard won its 10th consecutive game, as it pulled out a dominant 7-2 win over Pope John at Twin Oaks Ice Rink.
Seth Kaplan led the way with three points (2 g., 1 a.), while Evan Sanford, Billy Moloney and Roman Berger each had a goal and an assist for Morristown-Beard (10-2). D.J. Layden and Nick Vantassell each dished out two assists, while Cam Fernandez and Noah Jones each scored. Luke McManus made 17 saves in the win.
Sawyer Tantleff and Lucas Buchanan each scored for Pope John (4-9-1).
