Dec. 20 recap: Randolph tops Chatham; Vernon rolls past Kinnelon

Randolph continued its strong start to the season by putting together a trademark defensive effort in a 2-0 win over Chatham at Mennen Arena.

The Rams (5-1-1) held Chatham (2-1-2) to just eight shots on goal in the contest, and Gavin Einfeldt stopped all eight of them. It received goals from Kyle Barbera and J.T. Zangara in the second and third periods, respectively.

Chatham goalie Jennifer Olnowich turned away 18 shots in the loss, which was the team’s first of the year.

Vernon 8, Kinnelon 0

Vernon picked up its first win of the year, as it rolled to an impressive 8-0 triumph over Kinnelon at Skylands Ice World.

Vernon out-shot Kinnelon, 55-24 in the contest. Dylan Shea and Ayden Steinbach each had hat tricks, while Carlie Van Tassel and Devan England each chipped in with a goal.

Vernon improved to 1-4, while Kinnelon dropped to 0-4-2.
