Dec. 4 recap: Morris Knolls falls in season opener; Park Regional and Mountain Lakes win big

Ramapo 2, Morris Knolls-Hills 1

Morris Knolls fired 47 shots on goal, but Ramapo goalie Dallas Phillips was lights out as he stopped 46 of those shots to hand the reigning Public A champions a season-opening loss.

Ramapo scored goals in each of the first two periods, before Knolls’ Jason Kwestel scored early on in the third to cut the deficit to 2-1. But, thanks to Phillips’ performance, that was as close as Morris Knolls would get.

Elliot Marken made 22 saves for Morris Knolls.

Park Regional 10, Parsippany Regional 0

Tyler Cross had a hat trick and two assists, while Mike Derosa netted four goals and an assist for Park Regional. Angelo DePinto accounted for six total points, which included a goal and five assists in the win.

Joey and Marco Demartinis each scored for Park Regional (1-0-1). Matt Carter stopped all five shots he faced to earn the shutout.

Mountain Lakes-Boonton 10, Morris Catholic-DePaul 0

Griffin O’Shaughnessy tallied three goals and an assist and Cameron Egan accounted for two goals and two assists as Mountain Lakes-Boonton improved to 2-0 on the season.

Aiden Reidy, Finn Daggy, Daniel Fazandeiro, Cole Groeneveld, and Caz Kotsen each scored in the win.
