Morris/Sussex 3 Stars of the Week and Top 10 rankings, Dec. 22

This was an action packed week, with many great performances across Morris and Sussex County. It was difficult to narrow it down to just three, but here are my picks for this week’s Morris-Sussex Hockey Report Three Stars.

Evan Redman, Morristown-Beard, F, Jr.

The junior had an incredible performance in his team’s 10-2 victory over state-ranked Princeton Day last Monday. He netted five goals and also had three assists for an eight-point game, and then had a goal and an assist in each of his team’s wins over Morristown and Randolph. Redman is the team’s top scorer with 13 goals and six assists this season.

Lucas Gero, Madison, F, Jr.
Madison has been one of the surprise stories so far this season with a 6-1 record, and Gero has been right in the middle of it. In three games this week- all wins- against Montville, Nutley-Bloomfield-Columbia, and West Orange, he recorded 10 goals and seven assists. In total, he has an eye-popping 15 goals and 14 assists for a total of 29 points for the Dodgers this year.

Connor Lomax, Mount Olive-Hopatcong-Hackettstown, G, Jr.
Lomax recorded two shutouts this week. He had a 40-save shutout in a 3-0 win over Park Regional, one of the top offenses in the MCSSIHL, before registering a 34-save shutout in a 1-0 win over Verona-Glen Ridge just two days later. The junior has a .935 save percentage this season.
