Dave Hansen, the head coach at West Morris and previously a long-time head coach at Madison, tragically passed away on Tuesday.
According to his obituary, he was just 52 years old.
Hansen, who also made one-year stops at Princeton (2021-22) and Hillsborough (2022-23), just completed his first year at West Morris. He led the team to a 12-10-1 record this season and an appearance in the North, Public state playoffs.
Prior to all of that, he was the head coach at Madison from 2004-2020, where he led the team to Haas, Halvorsen, and Mennen Cups- the only program in MCSSIHL history to achieve this feat. The Mennen Cup title came in 2019, while the program won the Haas Cup in 2015 and the Halvorsen in 2018.
A GoFundMe page was set up to support his wife and four children.
