Jan. 30 recap: Fox’s OT goal gives Mendham division title, Morristown-Beard’s Jasaitis gets 100th point

Fox’s OT goal gives Mendham division title, top seed for Halvorsen Cup
Eddie Fox scored the game-winning goal with four seconds left in overtime to lift Mendham to a 2-1 win over Park Regional in Halvorsen Division play at Mennen Arena.

The win clinched the regular season Halvorsen Division title for Mendham, and it will be the top seed in the upcoming Halvorsen Cup. It is now 11-5-1 overall with a 9-0-1-1 divisional record.

Dylan Aker gave Park Regional the lead in the second period, before Colin McCarthy tied it for Mendham in the third. Brendon Eigner made 38 saves for Mendham, while Dylan Marion stopped 23 for Park.

Park Regional, which will be the second seed in the Halvorsen Cup, now has a 10-5-2 record with an 8-2-1-1 divisional record.

Jasaitis gets 100th point as Morristown-Beard girls tie Trinity Hall
Julie Jasaitis scored two goals, which included her 100th career point, as the Morristown-Beard girls team skated to a 2-2 tie with Trinity Hall at Twin Oaks Ice Rink.

Jasaitis, who has missed most of the season, now has 37 goals and 63 assists in her four-year career for the Crimson. Both of her goals in this game came in the first period to give Morristown-Beard a 2-1 lead, before it ultimately gave up a goal in the second period to tie it.

Reid Snyder and Emma Fuchs each had two assists for Morristown-Beard (6-3-2), which is on a seven-game unbeaten streak. Hannah Mortazavi made 32 saves.

Redman leads Morristown-Beard boys to dominant win
Evan Redman had a hat trick and two assists for the Morristown-Beard boys team in a 9-3 win over Morris Knolls-Hills in Mennen Division play at Mennen Arena.

Nick Squashic had a goal and three assists for Morristown-Beard (13-2-1), which finished Mennen Division play with a 10-1-1 divisional record. It has earned no worse than the two seed in the upcoming Mennen Cup and will have a first round bye.

Charlie Fernandez scored twice, while Shane Posner had three assists and Evan Jones had a goal and two assists for Morristown-Beard. Mason Hriczov made 19 saves in the win.

Jake McCloud had a goal and an assist for Morris Knolls-Hills (8-11), which is now 5-6 in divisional play.
