Vernon earns first win
The wait is over for Vernon.
After 16 games, the Vikings finally found themselves in the win column on Wednesday evening. It earned a 4-2 win over Morris Catholic-St. Elizabeth-Newark Academy in Haas/Charette Division play at Mennen Arena.
Jake Chromcik had a hat trick, including a power play goal and a shorthanded goal to increase his season total to 29. C.J. Viglietti also scored, while Mason Heilmann made several key breakups in the defensive zone. Freshman Klaus Harthaus, who has put up impressive save numbers all season, earned his first career victory with 36 saves.
Vernon’s record now stands at 1-16 on the season and 1-10 in the Haas/Charette Division. While it has already been eliminated from the Haas Cup playoffs, it has picked up its play of late, with close results of 4-2 to High Point-Wallkill Valley-Kittatinny and 8-5 to Newton-Lenape Valley just a day before.
Morris Catholic fell to 4-11 on the season and 3-7-0-1 in the division. It will be the sixth seed for the upcoming Haas Cup.
Delbarton erupts in win over rival CBA
Aidan Pasic had two goals and an assist to propel Delbarton to a dominant 6-0 win over Christian Brothers in Gordon Conference play at Jersey Shore Arena in Wall.
The Green Wave took control of the game with three goals in a span of 2:24, over the end of the first period and start of the second period. Pasic and Dante Rodriguez scored late in the first, before Egor Andreev buried one nine seconds into the second period.
Jack Ross and Jack Gerne each had a goal and two assists, with Ayden Puppe adding two assists. George Cote made 17 saves to earn the shutout as Delbarton improved to 12-1-1 on the year.
Mountain Lakes-Boonton scores twice late to stun Parsippany Regional
Anthony Maclaren and Lawson Fagan each scored in the final 1:28 of regulation to propel Mountain Lakes-Boonton to a dramatic 2-1 win over Parsippany Regional in Haas/Charette Division play at Mennen Arena.
Maclaren scored with 1:28 left, before Fagan scored the go-ahead goal just 12 seconds later to give the team the lead. Ethan Scanlon made 10 saves as Mountain Lakes-Boonton improved to 7-8 overall with a 7-5 record in the Haas/Charette Division. It now finds itself in a three-way tie with Parsippany and High Point-Wallkill Valley-Kittatinny for second, however both Parsippany and High Point each have one game left while Mountain Lakes has finished its divisional schedule.
Max Ingersoll scored the lone goal for Parsippany in the third period, as it fell to 9-5 overall with a 6-3-0-2 record in the division. Andrew Nicholas made 26 saves.
Randolph clinches share of Mennen Division title
Thanks to two-goal performances from Shane Melly and Andrew George, Randolph won its 10th-straight game and clinched no worse than a share of the Mennen Division title with a 10-0 win over Bernards-Somerville-Middlesex at Mennen Arena.
Randolph improved to 14-3 overall with a 10-0-0-1 mark in the Mennen Division. It can clinch the division title outright and earn the top seed in the Mennen Cup if Morristown-Beard loses to Morris Knolls-Hills on Thursday, or if Randolph wins, ties, or loses in overtime to Morris Knolls-Hills on Saturday.
