Zangara makes Randolph history as Rams win seventh straight
With a goal and an assist, Jase Zangara became Randolph’s all-time leading scorer as the Rams took down Manalapan, 6-0, at Jersey Shore Arena.
The two-point performance put Zangara at 177 career points, which surpassed Dan Pencinger’s record of 176. That record was set in 2003, meaning it stood untouched for 22 years.
In total, Zangara has 87 goals and 90 assists for his career, and with a lot of hockey left this season, reaching 100 career goals and 100 career assists are both very much on the table for the senior.
It was a balanced effort for Randolph, which won its seventh-consecutive game to improve to 11-3 on the year. Keegan Melly, Andrew George, and Shane Melly each contributed a goal and an assist. Ryan Potanovich also had a goal, with Justin Raeihle dishing out three assists. Zack Levesque stopped all 27 shots he faced to secure his third shutout of the season.
Randolph will next face Chatham on Thursday.
