Jan. 20 recap: Mountain Lakes-Boonton, Mendham earn big divisional wins

Mountain Lakes-Boonton earns big Haas/Charette win
Lawson Fagan scored four goals, including the game-winning goal in the third period to lead Mountain Lakes-Boonton to a 4-3 win over High Point-Wallkill Valley-Kittatinny in Haas/Charette Division play at Mennen Arena.

Fagan scored two goals even strength, one shorthanded, and one on the power play. He gave his team a 3-0 lead, before High Point’s tri-op rallied back with goals from Stephen Daidone, Anthony Tokar, and Nathan Shindelman to tie it up.

Cody Roller made 26 saves for Mountain Lakes-Boonton, while Landon Healy stopped 21 for High Point-Wallkill Valley-Kittatinny. The teams are now tied for third in the Haas/Charette Division with 10 points each and three games left to play.

Mountain Lakes-Boonton (5-7) will face Newton-Lenape Valley on Wednesday. High Point-Wallkill Valley-Kittatinny (6-8) will face Parsippany Regional on Thursday.

Mendham avenges early-season loss to Madison
Aschille Pasquier had a goal and an assist to lead Mendham to a 3-1 win over Madison in Halvorsen Division play at Mennen Arena.

Eddie Fox and Jake Fox each scored for Mendham (9-3-1, 7-0-1-1), which avenged a 3-2 overtime loss to Madison back on Dec. 12. The Minutemen are unbeaten in nine straight games (8-0-1) and are in sole possession of first place in the Halvorsen Division with 16 points, one ahead of second-place Park Regional.

Brandon Eigner and Kacper Lesiak each had two assists in the win. Brendon Eigner made 22 saves.

Ryan McSherry scored the lone goal for Madison (2-14, 1-8). Nick Worthington made 43 saves.

Pope John rolls past Hun
Hunter Parrillo had a hat trick to lead Pope John to a 5-1 win over Hun at Skylands Ice World in Stockholm.

Luke Jarosiewicz and Nicholas Colatrella each had three assists for Pope John (13-3-1). Magnuss Bars had a goal and an assist, while Alex Mizak had a goal. Mason Giordano made 25 saves.

Pope John will next face Northern Highlands on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at home.
