Parsippany Regional to host “Gold Out” benefit game for pediatric cancer patients

On Friday, the Parsippany Regional hockey team will host a “Gold Out” game against Morris Catholic-St. Elizabeth-Newark Academy at Mennen Arena to benefit the pediatric oncology and hematology patients at Goryeb Children’s Hospital.

The event will include a Toy/Gift card drive. The teams will be collecting all unopened and unused toys, as well as gift cards for the pediatric oncology and hematology patients. A QR code will also be available throughout the rink as well as on Big State Sports’ broadcast of the game which will give a link to an Atlantic Health donation page, where people will select a drop down menu to choose “Pediatric Cancer Fund.”

Prior to puck drop, the teams will take to center ice for a moment of silence, and players will be encouraged to raise their sticks in honor of those who have been lost. Additionally, the Parsippany Regional team will provide yellow helmet stickers and yellow stick tape for both teams. The team will also be wearing gold socks in an effort to “Go Gold” for Pediatric Cancer.
