Here are the Morris/Sussex 3 Stars of the Week for games played from Dec. 22-28. This season, I will also be naming a Girls star of the week from the four area girls teams.
THREE STARS OF THE WEEK
Rhone Armijo, West Morris, So.
West Morris is off to another strong start this year, and Armijo is right in the middle of it. He is tied for the team lead in points (26) and this week, he had a four-goal performance in the team’s 6-2 win over Park Regional on Thursday. It was the first four-goal game of his career.
Jake Fox, Mendham, Sr.
Fox picked up just his second career hat trick on Friday in his team’s 6-3 win over Montville. He scored the tie-breaking goal just under five minutes into the third period as his team went on to score three unanswered in a key divisional win.
Snowden Lange, Chatham, Jr.
Lange had a big-time performance in his team’s 2-1 win over Morris Knolls-Hills on Thursday. He stopped 34 of 35 shots, which set the stage for Roman Kostrowski’s game-winning goal in the third period in a big Mennen Division game.
GIRLS STAR OF THE WEEK
Leah Jobe, Madison, So.
Jobe recorded the first hat trick of her career in a 10-0 win over Newark East Side last Sunday.
