Here are the Morris/Sussex 3 Stars of the Week from Dec. 15-21. Additionally, I am also picking a Girls star of the week for the four Morris/Sussex area girls teams as well.
THREE STARS OF THE WEEK
Andrew Nicholas, Parsippany Regional, Jr.
Nicholas hit the 1,000 save milestone this week in an 8-2 win over Newton-Lenape Valley on Thursday. For the season, he has an .886 save percentage while leading his team to a 3-2 record.
Luc Jansson, Gill St. Bernard’s, Jr.
With a team of only eight skaters in front of him, Jansson has been rock solid for the Knights, keeping his team in games on a nightly basis. He reached the 1,000 save milestone this week with a 55-save performance in a 3-2 loss to Montville on Saturday. For the season, he has a .918 save percentage in four games.
Nick Squashic, Morristown-Beard, Sr.
Squashic has been off to a fantastic start for the Crimson this season and continued it this past week. He had a goal and an assist in a win over St. Joseph of Metuchen, before netting a hat trick in the team’s overtime win over Randolph. It snapped Randolph’s 13-game Mennen Division winning streak dating back to the 2022-23 season.
GIRLS STAR OF THE WEEK
Simone Claps, Chatham-Millburn, So.
Claps had the performance of a lifetime in her team’s 9-5 win over Westfield on Saturday. She was involved in all nine of her team’s goals- with six goals and three assists. For the year, she has seven goals and five assists for Chatham-Millburn, which is 3-1 to start the season.
