Park Regional 4, Montville 1
Chase Olszewski scored three goals to earn his second-straight hat trick to open the season in Park Regional’s 4-1 win over Montville in Halvorsen Division play at Mennen Arena.
Michael Capozzi had a goal and an assist for Park Regional, which is now 2-0 in the Halvorsen Division. Dylan Marion stopped 16 of 17 shots in the win. Park will next face Mendham on Saturday.
Olszewski now has seven goals in two games.
Cole Riley scored the lone goal for Montville, which fell to 0-2 in both overall and Halvorsen play. It will next be in action on Wednesday against Nutley-Columbia-Bloomfield.
Pope John 3, St. Peter’s Prep 0
Alex Mizak had a goal and an assist for Pope John in a 3-0 win over St. Peter’s Prep.
Liam Amabile and Luke Jarosiewicz each found the back of the net for the Lions, which improved to 3-0 on the season. Mason Giordano stopped all 14 shots he faced to earn his first career shutout.
Pope John will face Gov. Livingston-New Providence on Wednesday.
Mount Olive-Hopatcong-Hackettstown 4, Gill St. Bernard’s 0
Ryan Walsh scored a goal and had two assists to lead Mount Olive-Hopatcong-Hackettstown to a 4-0 win over Gill St. Bernard’s in its season opener at Mennen Arena.
Anthony Walsh, Keegan Ciborski, and Ryan Juckett each scored for Mo-Ho-Ha, which improved to 1-0 on the season. Talon Muscolino stopped all seven shots for his second career shutout and first since his sophomore season. Mo-Ho-Ha will face West Morris on Thursday.
Gill St. Bernard’s fell to 0-2 with the loss. Luc Jansson made 63 saves. It will next take on Montville on Friday.
Bayonne-Belleville-McNair 11, Vernon 1
Jake Chromcik scored a goal for Vernon in an 11-1 loss to Bayonne-Belleville-McNair at Korpi Ice Rink.
Klaus Harthaus made 51 saves in the loss for Vernon, which fell to 0-3 on the season. It will next face Roxbury on Saturday.
