KJS United 4, Chatham 3
Braydon Sisco scored two goals to lead Kinnelon-Jefferson-Sparta to a 4-3 win over Chatham in the program’s Mennen Division debut at Mennen Arena.
KJS, which won the Halvorsen Division and Cup last season, moved up to the league’s top division this year. Kinnelon last played in the Mennen Division in 2016-17, when it was still a solo program. Jefferson and Sparta have both never played in the Mennen Division as standalone programs.
Cooper O’Neill and Michael Pandiscia each scored for KJS (1-0). Brian Sisti stopped 23 of 26 shots in the first win for the Kinnelon program over Chatham since the 2016-17 season. It will faced Morris Knolls-Hills in its second divisional game on Wednesday at 7:45 p.m. at Mennen.
Roman Kostrowski, Thomas White, and Owen Young each scored for Chatham (1-1). Snowden Lange made 22 saves in the loss. It will next face Morristown on Tuesday.
Park Regional 5, Madison 1
Chase Olszewski finished with four goals and an assist to lead Park Regional to an impressive 5-1 win over Madison in the Halvorsen Division opener for both teams at Mennen Arena.
Olszewski scored twice in the first 2:37 of the game. Dylan Aker also scored, while Andrew Steinberg had three assists and Michael Capozzi had two assists for Park Regional (1-0). Dylan Marion stopped 20 shots in Park’s Halvorsen Division debut after spending a long time in the Haas Division. It will face Montville on Monday at Mennen Arena.
Patrick Layng scored the lone goal for Madison (0-2). It will look for its first win on Thursday against Mendham.
Passaic Tech 3, Morris Knolls-Hills 1
Morris Knolls-Hills dropped its second-straight game to start the season, with a 3-1 loss to Passaic Tech at the Ice Vault in Wayne.
Passaic Tech built a two-goal lead over the first two periods, before Doug Brookes scored early in the third period to cut the deficit to one. Passaic Tech, however, responded a minute later to seal the win.
Nick Trento stopped 36 of 39 shots in the loss.
