HALVORSEN CUP FIELD SET
After Thursday’s results, we now know the four-team field for the Halvorsen Cup. All that is left to be sorted out is who is seeded where.
Despite an impressive 6-3 win for Mount Olive-Hopatcong-Hackettstown over Madison, the tri-op was eliminated from Halvorsen Cup contention before it took the ice as Bernards-Somerville-Middlesex defeated Mendham, 5-2 in the earlier game at Mennen Arena.
Kinnelon-Jefferson-Sparta, Mendham, Bernards-Somerville-Middlesex, and Madison will be the four teams competing in the Halvorsen Cup. KJS has a three-point lead for first place with three games remaining, while Mendham and BSM are tied for second with seven points each, with Madison behind by just one point. BSM and Madison each have one game remaining, while Mendham still has two to go.
BSM was victorious via a balanced effort across the board, led by Harley Prizadeh’s one-goal, two-assist performance. Jimmy Hathaway and Ryan Leonard each had a goal and an assist, with Oliver Feco and Louis Kilpatrick each finding the back of the net. Baylyn Shankman made 25 saves in the win.
Mo-Ho-Ha, despite being eliminated from the Halvorsen Cup, managed to earn its first divisional win of the season in the win over Madison. Daniel McGarry recorded two goals and an assist, Dominic Landolfi scored twice, and Tyler Muscolino had a goal and an assist. Anthony Walsh had two assists, while Talon Muscolino made 31 saves in the win.
MOUNTAIN LAKES-BOONTON AND ROXBURY TIE; HAAS FIELD SET
Benji Forman had a natural hat trick for Mountain Lakes-Boonton, as it earned a 3-3 tie with Roxbury at Mennen Arena.
The tie, however, eliminated Mountain Lakes-Boonton from Haas Cup contention. West Morris, Gill St. Bernard’s, Park Regional, and Montville will all be competing in the Haas Cup, with both Roxbury and Mountain Lakes-Boonton on the outside. Seeds are still to be determined as each team still has multiple games left to play.
DELBARTON BESTED BY ST. AUGUSTINE
After an emphatic 5-0 triumph in the first meeting between the teams earlier this month, Delbarton fell, 3-2, to St. Augustine on the road.
Delbarton fell to 10-4 overall and 5-3 in the Gordon Conference-American Division. Jack Ross and Max Pendy each scored for the Green Wave, while George Cote made 33 saves in the loss.
