Newton-Lenape Valley’s Pastukh honored as a NJ Devils December Player of the Month

Newton-Lenape Valley junior Maksym Pastukh was honored by the New Jersey Devils as one of its Players of the Month for December.

Pastukh was one of nine honorees from conferences across the state, and represents the MCSSIHL. In the month of December, he recorded an eye-popping 22 goals and five assists over eight games. He had a hat trick in seven games for NLV in leading it to a 7-2 record in the month of December.

The Devils honor one player from each conference for each month from December through February. Winners are based off nominations from members of the media. Each honoree is given tickets to a Devils home game and a certificate presented by a Devils player and an RWJ Barnabas Health representative. This is the 30th season of the Devils Player of the Month program.

In addition to Pastukh, honorees included Northern Highlands junior Brent Beswick (Big North Conference), Robbinsville-Allentown junior Zach Duggan (Colonial Valley Conference), Monroe senior Nickolas Izzo (Greater Middlesex Conference), Don Bosco senior James Tarabocchia (Gordon Conference), Nutley-Columbia junior Alex Benkert (NJIIHL), Summit senior Molly Rowe-Smith (NJIIHL Girls Hockey), Lacey-Barnegat sophomore Cole Sturman (Shore Conference), and Hillsborough senior Nolan Collison (Skyland Conference).
