Jan. 15 notebook: Delbarton bounces back, KJS keeps winning streak alive

DELBARTON BOUNCES BACK

Max Pendy had a goal and an assist to help Delbarton bounce back from a loss to Christian Brothers last week, with a 4-1 win over Fairfield Prep of Connecticut at SportsCare Arena.

Peter Goffredo and Liam Donnelly each found the back of the net for the Green Wave. Dante Rodriguez dished out two assists, while George Cote made 11 saves.

Delbarton outshot Fairfield Prep, 40-12 in the game. It is now 8-2, and will face Seton Hall Prep on Wednesday.

KJS TOPS WAYNE FOR FIFTH-STRAIGHT WIN

Braydon Sisco scored twice to lift Kinnelon-Jefferson-Sparta to its fifth-straight win, a 3-1 triumph over Wayne at the Ice Vault in Wayne.

Logan Winslow contributed a goal and an assist for KJS, which is now 8-3 on the season. Rylan Gibbons stopped 29 of 30 shots to earn the victory.

MENDHAM SNAPS LOSING STREAK WITH BIG HALVORSEN WIN

Brendon Eigner had a 28-save shutout- his first shutout of the season- to lead Mendham to a 4-0 win over Mount Olive-Hopatcong-Hackettstown in a Halvorsen matchup at Mennen Arena.

Ian Aitkenhead had a goal and an assist for the Minutemen, which snapped a three-game losing streak in the process and improved to 5-6-1. The win also vaulted it into second place in the Halvorsen with a 2-1-1 record.

David Kalis, Cameron Smith, and Andrew Osso each scored for Mendham. Talon Muscolino made 30 saves for Mount Olive-Hopatcong-Hackettstown, which is now 2-12-1 (0-4-1 Halvorsen).

CONETTA KEEPS SHUTOUT STREAK ALIVE IN POPE JOHN WIN

Anthony Conetta stopped all 10 shots to earn his second-straight shutout in leading Pope John to a 3-0 win over St. Joseph of Metuchen at Skylands Ice World.

Robbie Myshkoff scored all three goals for the first hat trick of his career. Luke Jarosiewicz chipped in with two assists to propel the Lions to their third-straight win. It is now 9-4-1 on the year.

HEMENWAY LIFTS PARSIPPANY TO COMEBACK OVERTIME WIN

Robert Hemenway recorded a natural hat trick, including the game-winner in overtime, to lift Parsippany Regional to a come-from-behind 4-3 win over Bayonne at Mennen Arena.

Parsippany trailed, 3-0 in the first period, before Kaden Bland changed the momentum with a shorthanded goal in the final minute. Hemenway added a power play tally with 3:14 left in the second, before potting the game-tying goal with 10 seconds left in the second.

Matthew Hemenway and Shay Anand each had two assists for Parsippany. Andrew Nicholas made 23 saves, as the team snapped a five-game losing streak and improved to 3-6.

ACUNA RECORDS HAT TRICK IN MORRIS CATHOLIC LOSS

Mercer Acuna had a hat trick and an assist as Morris Catholic-St. Elizabeth fell to Paramus Catholic, 10-4, at Mennen Arena.

It was the first career hat trick for Acuna. Cameron Westrick netted the first goal of his varsity career, and Tyler Raucci also scored in the loss.

Morris Catholic-St. Elizabeth is now 0-13.

MORRISTOWN-BEARD FALLS TO PINGRY

Peter Cross recorded three assists as Morristown-Beard dropped a 7-4 decision to Pingry at Twin Oaks Ice Rink.

Evan Jones had a goal and an assist, while Hudson Salvador, Brendan Tartaglione, and John Gonnella each scored for the Crimson. Morristown-Beard fell to 5-5-1 with the loss.
