Dec. 26 notebook: Mendham moves past Montville

NUNAN LEADS MENDHAM PAST MONTVILLE

Denis Nunan had two goals and an assist to lead Mendham to a 6-4 win over Montville at Mennen Arena.

Cameron Smith and Ian Aitkenhead each had a goal and an assist for Mendham, which stopped a two-game losing streak and improved to 4-3-1. David Kalis and Aschille Pasquier each scored a goal, with Brandon Eigner notching two assists. Brendon Eigner made 12 saves and Gavin Thrun made five saves in a combined effort for the Minutemen.

Matt Trifari led Montville (3-4) with two goals and an assist. Aidan Rankin and Nicolas Ponikowski each scored in the loss.

MORRIS KNOLLS-HILLS TIES PASSAIC TECH

Luke Dickerson had a hat trick and an assist as Morris Knolls-Hills skated to a 5-5 tie with Passaic Tech in the Ice Vault Holiday Classic.

Jake McCloud also had four points, with one goal and three assists for Knolls-Hills, which is now 2-3-1 on the season. Ryan Nevins also scored a goal. Benjamin Blender made 14 saves on 19 shots, before giving way to Nick Trento, who made five saves.
